• Okay, so I'm very new to this blog 'thing'. So, let's start.

I suppose I should start at the beginning. This one is a little long winded and hopefully, I won't bore you this much again :)

After hurricane Ike came through Spring/Houston area, I personally, as a therapist, took a long break. (rebuilding our house and knee surgery - needed some time)

In 2010, I decided it was time to start over and what better way than moving my practice closer to home.

Since it had been a few years, money of course was tight and with no clients yet, I was on a shoestring budget. August, I finally found a small office suite off of Borough Park. The office was small but a great beginning. Things were slow. Okay, slow is an understatement. By the first part of 2011, I was getting a little nervous. I knew I had to do something different to get exposure and to bring in clients. It was at this point I saw an article on the 6 o'clock news. They were reporting on daily deal sites. I had never heard of them so I had to do my research. Even after research, I didn't know what I should do so I took that huge leap of faith. I contacted the two national daily deal sites. One contacted me within a couple of weeks.

Holistic Touch did its first daily deal in July 2011 via LivingSocial. I hadn't realized I would sell as many as I did so I reached out to people I knew were good therapists. Two therapists, Peggy and Miriam, agreed to help me with the vouchers. We shared ONE room. It was crazy and we knew more space was needed. I spoke with the property manager and she lead us to a larger suite. October 2011 brought us to our second home. Compared to our first, this office was huge. :)

We were in a whirlwind. In September, Groupon had contacted me and Holistic Touch did its second deal that same month. Miriam having her own practice couldn't stay forever so I reached out to another great therapist, TQ. She was able to help us part-time but we were still working like crazy. At this point, I contacted all the therapists I knew and asked them if they knew any therapist would like to join us. This simple request brought us the gifted Cherricka in November 2011.

By December 2011, Miriam had to begin focusing on her practice full time but we were working through it. All Holistic Touch therapists were busy and clients seemed to enjoy our different approach to putting the client first. We did do more daily deals but we were also retaining a wonderful clientele. With all this growth, I knew we were out growing our 'new, bigger' office. So the search began.... Hmmm I could say, I 'saw' a larger office in our future but that's a bad joke only our old clients will get. (LOL)

May 2012 and I found it. It was perfect: HUGE compared to the other two offices, private restroom, THREE session rooms AND a waiting room. (Okay, so we were behind a peculiar business but it was cozy.)

With all these moves, we were blessed by returning clients and new clients. Busy, busy, busy so we needed more therapists. Trevor came to us right out of school but seemed like a seasoned therapist. Next, Lisa joined us with all her skills and knowledge. Things seemed to be running smoothly.

We thought this would be our home for several years. Unfortunately, we were slowly outgrowing the location. More shopping and more shopping but finally !

May 2013 brought Holistic Touch to their 'newest' home on Oakhurst Drive. With a two-year lease signed, we anticipate to stay put.

Whew, its been a head-spinning few years. I can truthfully say:

I have been so unbelievably blessed and there are no words to express my thanks. My thanks to a team of caring and dedicated therapists AND my thanks to all of our loyal clients. Without ya'll there would be no Holistic Touch. Believe me when I say, I never take any of you for granted. I believe all of you were brought into my life for a reason and I see each one as an important part of my family.

A Sincere Thank You goes out to each one of you.

    Veronica
